Refreshing and Wiring a TR3 Wiper Motor

Before you take it apart, mark the position of the round piece as it determines where the wipers stop. I cleaned out the old grease, replaced it with wheel bearing grease, same with the cable. I also replaced the brushes. I shaped them to the armature by putting some sandpaper on the armature, and turning it holding the brushes down. Also cleaned up the armature per the manual.

Wiring it back up as below. A helpful site was http://www.tr3a.info/Net_TR3wiperWiring.htm

Route the wire under the mounting bracket as pictured.

Wire it up as follows, top to bottom

* black – on E for earth or ground

*green – notched center slot

*green/black – on I for the switch

And

* round connector – under the nut of one of the mounts.
